In the capital, not only central streets and squares are being improved, but also outbound highways, embankments, parks, squares, courtyards, inter-courtyards, schools, hospitals and clinics.
Moscow should become more attractive every year. Improvements are made not only to the central streets and squares, but also to the city as a whole. He told about this in an interview with RIA Novosti Sergei Sobyanin…
“The city should be in positive dynamics in order to become more beautiful and attractive every year. And people respond, as a rule, to this. They respond by staying here to live, not leaving for other cities, investing in their city, linking their future and the future of their children with this city. This is very, very important, “- said the Mayor of Moscow.
In the capital, not only central streets and squares are being improved, but also outbound highways, parks, squares, courtyards, inter-courtyard spaces, areas of schools, hospitals and clinics. So, near the hospital named after S.S. Yudina will appear a multi-sensory garden where you can enjoy the beauty and scents of flowering plants. It is planned to create a small sports town for the hospital staff with outdoor exercise equipment and courts for playing basketball, streetball, volleyball and tennis. There will also be a guest parking for hospital visitors.
Over the past 10 years, 36 embankments with a total length of 64.5 kilometers have been put in order in the city. A pedestrian route from the Moscow City business center to Taganskaya Square has appeared in the historical part of the city. The works affected Krasnopresnenskaya, Novodevichy, Kremlin, Moskvoretskaya and other embankments. Also this year we managed to implement one of the largest projects – the improvement of the Balchug Island. Its main idea was to conditionally divide urban space into historical and modern.
In the near future, the improvement of specially protected areas – the natural and historical park “Pokrovskoe-Streshnevo” and Bitsevsky forest. These are some of the most challenging projects. To carry out the improvement as carefully as possible, the city consults with experts, ecologists and residents.
“If you don’t equip this area, it turns into just a garbage dump, sorry, and an unsafe place. Therefore, we must equip it so that residents can walk safely and comfortably, go in for sports, and come there with children. In this case, of course, zoning is necessary. Most of it remains a natural area with minimal human intervention, with a trail network for walking and cycling, but at the same time as clean and safe as possible. Other areas are of active use, next to residential buildings, where sports, playgrounds, recreation areas for the elderly should be well equipped, ”Sergei Sobyanin said, specifying that 90 percent of the territory of these natural parks will remain specially protected.
