On November 25, Moscow hosted a meeting between the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation V. G. Titov and the Political Director of the Federal Ministry for European and Foreign Affairs of the Austrian Republic G. Kössler.

The entire range of bilateral ties was discussed in detail. Both sides emphasized the constructive nature of Russian-Austrian relations, noted the progressive dynamics of contacts at various levels, despite the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic. A positive assessment was given to the ongoing interaction in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres. Promising directions for the further development of the Russian-Austrian dialogue, including through the inter-ministerial dialogue and contacts between the heads of the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries, investment ties, and the activities of the Sochi Dialogue public forum, have been identified.

A number of pressing international issues were touched upon, including Russia’s relations with the European Union and the settlement of a number of regional conflicts.
