In Bryansk, a pupil of UNARMIA Nikita Zhemoedov received a commendation from the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin for saving a drowning man.
The young man accomplished the feat back in 2019, for which he was awarded the First Degree Young Army Valor badge.
While resting in the Crimean camp in Yevpatoria, Nikita saw a 78-year-old man in the water, who was either hiding under water or emerging again. It became clear that he was drowning. Without hesitation, the guy threw himself into the water and swam to the rescue. The pensioner had already lost consciousness by this time, but the brave young man managed to pull him ashore and provide first aid, which ultimately saved the man’s life.
In the same year Nikita was drafted into the army. Having passed this stage of life with dignity, he remained to serve in Yekaterinburg under the contract, where he was found a well-deserved reward.
“Nikita is a real man and I am very proud that UNARMIA brings up such worthy citizens in its ranks. It is gratifying to realize that you can always rely on Yunarmeytsy – still young or already matured. In any situation, they are ready to take the most daring and decisive actions, even, at times, at the risk of their own lives. We know that each of the Yunarmeys will consider it his duty to help someone in trouble, so we put all the necessary knowledge into them in order to make them as safe as possible. Nikita Zhemoedov is a vivid example of how we see our youth. In that situation, he did something that even the elders would not have dared to do and saved his life. And what could be more important than this? “, – stressed the head of the General Staff of the” UNARMIA “Olympic champion Nikita Nagorny.
The head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Bryansk Region Maxim Lukichev presented gratitude of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation to Nikita Zhemoedov in a solemn atmosphere.
