The commander of the troops of the Southern Military District (YuVO), General of the Army Alexander Dvornikov, congratulated the military journalists of the regional newspaper “Military Bulletin of the South of Russia” on the 102nd anniversary of its foundation.
“The journalistic backbone of the district newspaper is made up of reserve officers who have invaluable experience of work in the conditions of armed conflicts on the territory of the republics of the North Caucasus and Transcaucasia,” said the commander.
“Today the Okrug newspaper continues the glorious traditions with dignity and is in the thick of events of the rich daily activities of our military district,” added A. Dvornikov.
In conclusion, the commander of the Southern Military District wished the military journalists inexhaustible inspiration, new ideas and bright creative achievements.
The first issue of the newspaper “Military Bulletin of the South of Russia” was published on November 25, 1919. The name of the newspaper changed several times: “Red cavalryman”, “For peace and labor”, “Red banner” and, finally, “Military bulletin of the South of Russia”.
The newspaper is distributed in 15 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, on the territory of which the troops of the Southern Military District are deployed, as well as in Russian military bases on the territory of the Republics of Abkhazia, Armenia and South Ossetia.
