The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission decided to extend the validity period of the rate of the import customs duty ETT of the EAEU for certain types of vanadium-aluminum alloy in the amount of 0% until December 31, 2022 inclusive.

Vanadium-aluminum alloy is used in the production of titanium alloys as an alloying component. Its main consumers are metallurgical enterprises that use these raw materials in the manufacture of products for the aerospace industry.

“The share of the cost of vanadium-aluminum alloy in the price of titanium alloys is about 30%. The tariff preference significantly affects the reduction of the cost of finished products and the maintenance of the competitiveness of titanium produced in the EAEU, ”said Vahagn Ghazaryan, Director of the EEC Customs Tariff and Non-Tariff Regulation Department.

The measure is applied on a temporary basis until the organization of the relevant production on the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.

The decision will enter into force on January 2, 2022.

By the decision of the EEC Board of July 9, 2019 No. 113, an import customs duty rate of 0% was established for the vanadium-aluminum alloy for a period until December 31, 2021.
