In the Engels long-range aviation unit, stationed in the Kaluga, Murmansk and Saratov regions, for conscripts, the feature film “Sky” was shown, filmed with the support of the Russian Ministry of Defense based on the story of the heroic death of the Su-24 pilot Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Peshkov during performing special missions in the skies over Syria.

“This picture is a rarity for modern Russian cinema. This is the first film in the country that tells about the events in Syria with such precision. After watching the film, all the servicemen were impressed, noting that the film turned out to be completely realistic, ”said Colonel Ruslan Akhmetzhanov, deputy commander of the unit for military-political work of the Guards.

After the screening, the film was discussed in the form of a casual conversation, in which the servicemen asked questions of their interest.

The filming took place at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, including at the Khmeimim airbase in Syria.
