More than 20 tactical exercises, about 600 fire exercises and combat firing from small arms and armored personnel carriers, more than 5,000 training parachute jumps of varying difficulty. With such results, the elite formation of the Baltic Fleet celebrates the 316th anniversary of the formation of the marines.

In the course of carrying out the tasks of amphibious assault training, the marines of the Baltic Fleet carried out over 60 trainings and exercises for the landing of amphibious assault forces on an unequipped coast. Naval infantry units took part in the West-2021 joint strategic exercise. In the course of large-scale maneuvers, black berets from Baltiysk carried out amphibious assault landing on the unequipped coast, and also defended it from the actions of the forces of a conditional enemy.

Groups of marines of the airborne assault battalion took part in all exercises and long-range cruises of the Baltic Fleet warships, in the waters of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, the Baltic, North, Red and Mediterranean Seas.

Compared to last year, the intensity of combat training in the marine corps of the fleet increased by 25 percent.

More than 70 percent of the brigade’s servicemen took part in combat services and exercises at unfamiliar ranges, more than 50 percent of the officers have experience in performing combat missions. Traditionally, the most trained unit in the formation is the airborne assault battalion. DShB confidently performs everything, including combat missions in unfamiliar terrain, carries the Marine Corps flag with honor and dignity.

Throughout 2021, the military personnel of the Marine Corps will continue to perform tasks in the operational zone of the fleet and beyond it as part of the crews of warships and support vessels of the Baltic Fleet. Today, Marine Corps units carry out combat service on a number of ships and support vessels of the fleet, which are on long voyages.

Today, on the territory of the Baltic Fleet Marine Corps compound in the city of Baltiysk, festive events dedicated to the Day of the Russian Marine Corps will be held.
