The day before, the military history museum of the House of Officers of the Samara Garrison hosted a solemn ceremony of bringing privates of the CSKA sports company, Samara, to the Military Oath. Forty recruits – members of the Russian national teams in Olympic sports swore allegiance to the Fatherland. All of them are already accomplished athletes, famous in the world of Russian sports.
Among them are titled army fencers – silver medalists of the foil team tournament at the Olympic Games in Tokyo – the winner of the World Championship in the team, the winner of the Junior World Cup Anton Borodachev and the winner of the European and World Championships Kirill Borodachev. The oath was also taken by the Master of Sports of international class in archery Buyanto Osorov, Master of Sports of international class in weightlifting Daniil Vagaytsev and many other leaders of national and world sports.
“Today is truly a solemn day,” said Daniil Vagaytsev, a private sports company. “I am overwhelmed with emotions. I really wanted to get into the CSKA sports company, and not everyone is hired here. It was important for me to serve in the Russian army and not give up big sports. This is an opportunity to combine two things that are so important to me. A unique feature of the CSKA sports company is the opportunity for athletes to continue the training process and go to training camps and competitions. At the same time, we went through a full-fledged “Young Fighter Course”, including fire training at a military training ground. The most difficult for me was the early rise at 6 in the morning. Despite the fact that the athletes live practically in an army regime during training camps and preparations for major starts, they did not have to get up so early. But these are all trifles in comparison with what knowledge and skills my company comrades and I have already gained. And this is just the beginning! ” – summed up the athlete.
