At the beginning of the year, the Government approved the Plan for the Year of Science and Technology of 85 federal events only. The key ones are the launch of a new production of a vaccine against coronavirus and the most powerful tokamak (thermonuclear reactor) in Russia at the Kurchatov Institute, the Baikal Deep-Sea Neutrino Telescope megascience facility and many other breakthrough projects. Of course, much attention this year has been paid to the popularization of science and modern technologies. The All-Russian Prize “For Fidelity to Science” is dedicated to just such people – those who are engaged in scientific research and broad coverage of the country’s achievements. In the Year of Science and Technology, the award set a record for the number of applications – 744, while in 2020 there were almost 2.5 times less applications. Very soon we will summarize the results of the Year of Science and Technology at the Congress of Young Scientists in Sirius, which will be held from 8 to 10 December. It will be attended by about 3 thousand young scientists – winners of grant competitions, students, researchers, representatives of government and business. I am sure that together we will be able to realize the scientific and technological potential of the country, ”noted Dmitry Chernyshenko.

Also, for the first time, the best project aimed at protecting the historical truth was awarded, and a special prize was awarded to the name of the outstanding writer and popularizer of science Daniil Granin.
