The Vice Prime Minister recalled that this year the Russian Kickboxing Federation celebrated its 30th anniversary. During this time, a lot of work has been done to improve the sports training of wrestlers. Dmitry Chernyshenko expressed gratitude to the entire federation team for the development of kickboxing in the country and wished success to its new president, Bat Khasikov.

“Kickboxing is a popular sport. He perfectly trains flexibility and coordination, endurance, and determination. And I congratulate all the athletes on the IOC’s recognition as an Olympic sport. This will stimulate an increase in the number of participants, as well as contribute to an increase in the number of fans. Now in Russia more than 150 thousand people are professionally engaged in kickboxing. More than 300 of them have the titles of masters and honored masters of sports, as well as masters of sports of international class. More than 8.5 thousand athletes have the first category or are candidates for master of sports. I hope that when kickboxing is included in the program of the Olympic Games, our guys will prove themselves worthy and bring Russia more than one gold medal, ”said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

He also noted the successful performances of the Russian national kickboxing team at the major international competitions that took place this season – the World Championships in Italy and the European Championships in Montenegro. Both times, the athletes took the first team place and entered the list of the best kickboxers in the tournaments.
