Servicemen of the Tver formation of military transport aviation congratulated the veteran of the Great Patriotic War Mikhail Ignatievich Pankov on his 95th birthday.

The warmest wishes were conveyed to Mikhail Ignatievich from the command of the military transport aviation formation, as well as gifts and flowers were presented.

After the congratulations, the veteran spoke about his youth and years of life during the Great Patriotic War.

The event was held under the leadership of Colonel Alexei Smirnov, deputy commander of the formation for military-political work.

Mikhail Ignatievich served as a radiotelegraph operator during the Great Patriotic War, after which in 1945 he took part in the Soviet-Japanese War as part of the 12th Air Army of the USSR Armed Forces.

During the war, he was awarded multiple awards, including the Order of the Patriotic War and two medals “For Military Merit”.
