The competition will last for three weeks. 35 competencies will be presented for the first time.

The X Open Championship of Professional Skills “Moscow Masters” according to WorldSkills Russia standards has opened in the capital. The competition has become the most massive in the history of the movement. More than 27 thousand applicants took part in the qualifying round, the main stage will bring together over 6.5 thousand participants and experts.

The number of competencies has also become a record. Muscovites will demonstrate their skills in 175 competencies in the main age category from 16 to 22 years old, and juniors from 10 to 16 years old will compete in 128 competencies.

“During the preparation for the championship and at the sites of the Moscow Masters, the participants acquire invaluable skills that will be useful to the children in the future. The number of participants and competencies of the championship is growing every year. This is a good trend, we monitor and even stay ahead of the demands of the labor market. The championship is getting younger, 53 percent of the participants of the 10 “Moscow Masters” are schoolchildren, ”said Irina Zhdanova, director of the Moscow Center for the Development of Vocational Education.

35 competencies were presented for the first time at the championship. These include Genomic Engineering, Flying Robotics, Urban: Urban Planning, and Online Event Organizer.

Competitions will be held in full-time format at the sites of the capital’s colleges in compliance with all sanitary and epidemiological requirements: thermometry, social distance and mask regime.

The championship will run until December 19. Winners and awardees will have the opportunity to represent Moscow at the WorldSkills Russia national championship.
