In connection with the sharp drop in temperature in the places where the forces and troops of the Northern Fleet are stationed, the regional control center of the Northern Fleet headquarters, at the direction of the fleet commander, Admiral Alexander Moiseyev, issued a “Cold” signal. In accordance with the announced, the stay of personnel in the open air was reduced, the exit of vehicles from military units was limited, additional inspections of boiler houses that provide heat to military camps and socially significant facilities in the garrisons of the Northern Fleet were carried out. Also, other measures have been taken to ensure the defense capability of the interspecific association in conditions of low temperatures, to prevent accidents and breakdowns of weapons, military and special equipment, and hypothermia of personnel.

Anti-icing measures are carried out on warships and support vessels, especially on those performing tasks at sea.

According to the hydrometeorological center of the Northern Fleet, cold weather in the Arctic will last for several more days. At present, the average daily air temperature in the places of deployment of the forces of the fleet ranges from 20 to 30 degrees Celsius below zero.
