The play “The Third Rocket” of the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army became the Laureate of the XIX International Theater Forum “Golden Knight” – 2021.

“I am grateful to everyone and everyone who forged and created the performance! To everyone who leaves their hearts on the stage, who fights for the performance behind the scenes, who leads it, who lights and voices it, who makes up and dresses our fighters, who carefully keeps our props and sets the scenery! Without you, without your efforts, talent and indifference – there is no theater, no victories, no achievements! ” – Nikolai Lazarev, People’s Artist of Russia, director of the play “The Third Rocket”, congratulated his colleagues.

The play “The Third Rocket” is based on the work of Vasil Bykov. The action takes place in Romania in 1944. Just one summer day in the life of a squadron of magpies.

In the midst of the Yassy-Kishinev offensive operation, due to various circumstances, the artillerymen of one battery find themselves on the front line of the Germans’ counteroffensive, are encircled and single-handedly wage an unequal battle. Who will chicken out and betray, who will take revenge on the traitor, who will die in the first minutes of a tank attack, who will survive under fire, who will fight for their first love in life and remain faithful to the oath? This is a tough, male performance about those who defended their Motherland in the hardest years of the Great Patriotic War.

Let us remind you that the International Theater Forum “Golden Knight” has been held within the framework of the Slavic Arts Forum since 2002. Its goal is to strengthen the traditions of the Russian realistic theater, the classical theater school, expand creative ties and mutual enrichment of the theatrical cultures of the Slavic peoples, and popularize the national classical drama.
