In a separate guards airborne assault unit stationed in Ulan-Ude (Republic of Buryatia), a military orchestra of the unit took place, dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of Major General Semyon Chernetsky, military conductor and founder of military bands of the Workers ‘and Peasants’ Red Army, and the 100th anniversary of the Military Orchestra Service of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, which was celebrated this year.

At the concert, the orchestra performed various works of the classical genre, military-patriotic themes and modern compositions, which were very warmly received by the audience. For a long time, the paratroopers did not let the military orchestra of the unit leave the stage with their applause.

For reference:

100 years ago, on January 14, 1921, by order of the Revolutionary Military Council, the Bureau of military bands of the Red Army and Navy was established and its Regulations and staff were put into effect. The main task was declared to be the organization of musical support for all spheres of combat and daily activities of the troops. It was this document that laid the foundation for the centralized development of the orchestra service.
