Operatives of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, together with Krasnodar colleagues and police officers, on November 26, 2021, detained a man who had been hiding from law enforcement agencies since 1999.

22 years ago, a native of Kirishi, Leningrad Region, as an official, he committed two crimes related to fraud and drug trafficking. After a preliminary investigation in 1999, the citizen was released from custody on bail and went into hiding.

On September 29, 2008, by the verdict of the Kirishi City Court of the Leningrad Region, the fugitive was convicted in absentia under Part 2 of Art. 159, part 3 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation to punishment in the form of 5 years 6 months in prison.

Being on the wanted list for a long time, the convict made a forged passport in the name of another person and lived in Abkhazia, and for the last 6 years – in the Krasnodar Territory. During the search operations, the suspect was detained on Vinogradnaya Street in Sochi. A fingerprint check confirmed the identity of the wanted person.
