On November 30, Acting Head of EMERCOM of Russia Alexander Chupriyan held a working meeting with Deputy Minister of Public Security of Vietnam Tran Quoc To. The parties discussed issues of cooperation in the field of prevention and elimination of emergencies.

As A. Chupriyan noted, in the context of global climate change, urbanization and acceleration of technical progress, the role of emergency services is multiplying. Russian-Vietnamese cooperation has been successfully carried out for a long time, and the Russian Emergencies Ministry is always ready to provide assistance to a friendly state. So, in November 2017, as a result of the devastating typhoon “Damri”, the department delivered more than 20 tons of humanitarian supplies to the affected Vietnamese population, and in the summer of this year donated one thousand sets of doses of the Gam-Covid-Vac vaccine.

Within the framework of the meeting, the parties also discussed the training of specialists for the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam on the basis of the universities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. Since 2002, 36 specialists have been trained, and 42 representatives of Vietnam are currently studying. In addition, the AGPS EMERCOM of Russia, together with the Institute of Fire Safety of the Ministry of Defense of Vietnam, published a unique dictionary on emergency situations, which contains 20 thousand terms. The dictionary is published in three languages (Russian-English-Vietnamese).

The Vietnamese delegation thanked the Russian colleagues for the humanitarian assistance and support provided. It was noted that a visit of a delegation from the Russian Emergencies Ministry to Vietnam is scheduled for next year to get acquainted with the practical experience of Vietnamese colleagues.
