During his stay in Havana, V.G. Titov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba B. Rodriguez and held political consultations with the First Deputy Foreign Minister M. Medina.

They reaffirmed their mutual disposition to further strengthen Russian-Cuban cooperation in the widest range of areas in the spirit of strategic partnership, to maintain a high dynamic of political dialogue. They noted the categorical rejection of the practice of using unilateral sanctions that contradict the norms of international law, confirmed the solidarity position on the need to immediately lift the trade, economic and financial blockade of the island by the United States.

It was noted with satisfaction that the recently held meeting in Moscow of the co-chairs of the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission (Yuri Borisov – R. Kabrisas) was successful, during which it was possible to unblock a number of problematic issues and outline ways for further development of cooperation in energy, transport, financial and credit and other spheres. … During the talks, they also discussed issues related to overcoming the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and cooperation of relevant departments in this area.

In a traditionally confidential atmosphere, a thorough exchange of views was held on a wide range of topics on the bilateral, regional and global agenda, and the friendly nature of interaction between Russia and Cuba on international platforms was noted on the basis of coinciding positions on key issues of our time.
