In 2021, the title of “Best Helicopter Rescue Pilot” in the EMERCOM of Russia was awarded to the commander of the helicopter of the helicopter squad (on Mi-8 and Mi-26) of the Khabarovsk Aviation Rescue Center of the EMERCOM of Russia, Captain Vladislav Ten. At the age of 37, he won a worthy victory among his colleagues.

Since 2014, Vladislav has been serving in the EMERCOM of Russia. And before that there was a service in the helicopter regiment of the Ministry of Defense and work in the aviation security.

As V. Ten admits, the aviators of the EMERCOM of Russia are distinguished by their multitasking. “If the rest have a fairly narrow range of tasks to be performed, then we have a wider one. Any crew can prepare for any task in a short time – whether it is an emergency in another region of the Far East, the ferrying of an aircraft across the country, for the sanitary evacuation and transportation of victims, for extinguishing wildfires, and others. Therefore, we always support our professional training, train, practice the necessary skills, ”he says.

In his opinion, it is important for the crew commander to be able to rally people so that they listen to you and follow your instructions. For each flight there are many situations when a lot depends on it, you need to act clearly. Over the years of service in the rescue department, he more than once had to participate in the elimination of various emergencies, search and rescue operations, ambulance flights. Of the most difficult, perhaps, we can note the work on extinguishing wildfires in Yakutia this year. It required all the skills that the flight crew possesses.

The crew of the Mi-8 helicopter under the leadership of Vladislav Ten in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) performed 172 flights. The total time spent in the sky is over 92 hours. During the day, they sometimes made up to 18 flights. 105 tons of water were poured onto the fires with the use of a spillway device. The helicopter transported 453 people, about 10 tons of cargo. 222 launches were performed in a non-parachute manner. For participation in the elimination of the consequences of natural fires, Captain V. Ten was awarded the Nesterov Medal.

“If you go to aviation, and even more so to the aviation of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, you have to devote one hundred percent to this business. To love this business, and then there will be a return, provision, recognition. As they say, a happy person is the one who goes to work with pleasure and returns from it with pleasure, ”he notes.
