In Sevastopol, under the leadership of the commander of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet), Admiral Igor Osipov, an expanded meeting of the Military Council of the Fleet was held at the end of the 2021 academic year.
The Military Council and its participants heard reports on the results of combat training, material and technical support, repair of equipment and weapons, law and order and military discipline.
During the 2021 academic year, the crews of the ships conducted about 250 different exercises, during which more than 600 combat exercises were performed, including those with live fire. In the process of preparing for combat service, the crews of ships and boats have completed and successfully passed about 150 coursework tasks.
The surfacing of the Black Sea Fleet’s naval forces in the outgoing year amounted to more than 5.5 thousand sailing days, the ships covered about 450 thousand nautical miles, which is one and a half times more than the indicators of the same period last year. The increase in the intensity and duration of missions at sea is associated with the actions of the Black Sea Fleet ships as part of the permanent naval grouping of the Navy in the Mediterranean Sea, as well as the high intensity of planned combat training.
In addition, the servicemen of the fleet took part in three international naval exercises, the fourth will be held in December this year, as well as in the competitions of the international army games and competitions of the Main Command of the Russian Navy, as a result of which they won more than 10 prizes.
At the end of the Military Council, the Commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Igor Osipov, presented a number of the most distinguished servicemen with state awards of the Russian Federation and departmental awards of the Russian Ministry of Defense, as well as challenge cups for the title of the best formations, military units and subunits.
