The number of practical training sessions with units of the Russian military base stationed in Tajikistan will be doubled compared to last year. This was announced by the interim commander of the 201st Russian military base, Colonel Yevgeny Okhrimenko, during the check of the readiness of military training grounds for the winter training period.

“Since the beginning of the new academic year, which starts on December 1, the volume of hours of day and night classes with servicemen has doubled. For drivers and crews of combat vehicles, about 1,000 driving lessons and more than 3,000 fire, tactical and special training sessions will be held. Additional flight hours have been added for the crews of the aviation group with the development of complex piloting elements in mountainous terrain, ”said Okhrimenko.

According to him, before the start of the new academic year, the condition of the headmistresses of infantry fighting vehicles (armored personnel carriers), the tank headmistress, autodromes, military and mountain shooting ranges, as well as a number of other training facilities for working out various standards was checked. Particular attention was paid to the readiness of training places to fulfill the standards for army tactical shooting and the destruction of enemy unmanned aerial vehicles, taking into account the experience of modern armed conflicts, including in the fight against international terrorism.

By the beginning of the academic year, at the Lyaur and Sambuli training grounds, the training and material-technical base has been fully prepared, classrooms have been equipped. In addition, for practical training, servicemen made more than 500 multifunctional mobile and stationary targets imitating vehicles and armored vehicles, manpower, machine-gun and anti-tank crews of a simulated enemy.

The 201st military base stationed in Tajikistan is Russia’s largest military facility outside its borders. It is located in two cities – Dushanbe and Bokhtar. It includes motorized rifle, tank, artillery, reconnaissance units, air defense units, RChBZ and communications.
