On the eve of the 45th anniversary of the All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergencies of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, Vladimir Putin thanked the teaching staff.
The head of state noted the high results achieved in the implementation of state tasks for the creation, development and implementation of the latest methods and technologies to ensure the comprehensive safety of the population.
Created on December 1, 1976, the All-Russian Research Institute of Civil Defense within the system of the USSR Ministry of Defense, taking into account the appearance of nuclear weapons, was supposed to develop technologies, special means and measures to protect the civilian population and the national economy of the country.
But since 1986, over the next years, there have been a number of natural and man-made major man-made disasters, which put on the agenda the issue of ensuring the safety of the population from natural and man-made emergencies. The research problem of the Institute is expanding. Since 1996, VNII GOChS has been in the EMERCOM system of Russia, becoming the parent organization conducting promising scientific research in the field of life safety.
The Acting Head of EMERCOM of Russia Alexander Chupriyan, congratulating the staff of the institute on the 45th anniversary of its creation, noted that the institute is the flagship of the scientific security industry and confidently keeps the bar of one of the recognized leaders, continues to develop systematically, defining the course in the development of modern technologies. “Scientists of the institute are making their contribution to ensuring the national security of the country by bold research and promising developments,” A. Chupriyan said.
The Institute creates important and demanded developments in the department. For example, for the first time within the walls of the institute, a series of Russian hydraulic rescue tools, including those with an electric drive, appeared, a concept was developed and the first field camps with a capacity of up to 1000 people were created to ensure the life of the population in an emergency.
Scientists of VNII GOChS are the founders of unmanned aerial systems in the EMERCOM of Russia. The department accepted for supply the complex developed by the institute with aircraft and helicopter type aircraft and a universal control system for them.
The Struna-Strela complex and the system for assessing the state of buildings and structures exposed to dynamic influences, developed by the Institute’s scientists, are successfully used in Russia and abroad.
“The team of VNII GOChS possesses invaluable experience, knowledge and motivation to achieve the set goals,” said the acting head of the rescue department.
VNII GOChS will continue to work comprehensively on scientific solutions to ensure the safety of life in the face of rapid technological progress and the creation of technologies that can prevent threats, more quickly and effectively save people and protect property.
