The Moscow youth army members of the guard of honor took part in the Memorial Watch dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the feat of Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya. The event was held within the framework of the “Reason to Remember” project at the Novodevichy Cemetery, where the graves of the legendary intelligence officer and her brother Alexander are located.

The guys honored the memory of the first woman in the Great Patriotic War, awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, with a minute of silence, and also laid flowers.

“Every young soldier knows about the feat of Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya. It is even difficult to imagine that some of us can say that they did not hear about those terrible events. For us and everyone who loves their country, Zoya has become a symbol of courage in the fight against the Nazis. Not everyone could endure all the tortures that the invaders perpetrated on her. But she was able to, did not betray secrets to the enemy. It is difficult to imagine what she would have done in her place then. However, devotion to one’s Motherland is something that needs to be learned from it, ”said Alexandra Fomina, a youth soldier.

In total, 40 Yunarmeys became participants in the Watch of Memory. Among them were not only pupils of the honor guard school, but also young patriots from the detachments of schools No. 947, No. 806, as well as the “Integral” school and the detachment named after Hero of the Soviet Union, partisan Pyotr Braiko.

“The story of Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya cannot leave anyone indifferent. The girl threw in the face of the Nazis like a glove – a challenge, contempt, determination and faith in the inevitable victory of the Soviet people. In impotent rage, the Nazis, unable to break Zoya, perpetrated reprisals against her. But as the Soviet writer Konstantin Simonov said: “Heroes do not die. The brave have only immortality. ” The brave girl found this immortality in the hearts of generations, in the hearts of every young soldier, for whom it is a matter of honor, a duty to the generation of Victors to keep the memory of a heroic deed, ”stressed the head of the General Staff of UNARMIA, Olympic champion Nikita Nagorny.

In turn, the curator of the “Reason to Remember” project, Yulia Kosova, told the children about the life and immortal feat of Zoya.

Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya was captured by the Nazis on November 28, 1941 near the village of Petrishchevo. Despite cruel torture and torture, Kosmodemyanskaya did not reveal the location of her sabotage and reconnaissance group and did not give her name. During interrogation, the girl identified herself as Tanya. At noon on November 29, she was hanged. From the scaffold the girl shouted: “No matter how much you hang us, you don’t hang everyone, we are 170 million. But our comrades will avenge you for me. ” On February 16, 1942, Zoya Anatolyevna Kosmodemyanskaya was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. She became the first woman to be awarded this title during the Great Patriotic War.
