In St. Petersburg, the flight methodological training session with the leadership of the aviation of the Russian Emergencies Ministry has ended.

As part of the event, the results of activities in 2021 were summed up, issues of organizing flight work and advanced training of flight personnel were discussed, a conference on flight safety was held, and priority development areas and main tasks facing the aviation of the “emergency department” for the next year were identified. An important component of the training camp was to test the knowledge of theoretical disciplines, as well as demonstration flights on which a unified methodology for teaching flight personnel in complex types of flight training was worked out. In addition to specialists from the aviation rescue institutions of the Russian Emergencies Ministry from all over the country, representatives of the aviation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the aviation industry also took part in the event.

Summing up the results of the flight methodological training, the Deputy Head of the EMERCOM of Russia Viktor Yatsutsenko expressed gratitude to the entire flight staff of the department for the excellent performance of tasks in the outgoing year, noting that the Ministry’s aviation continues to be one of the most important elements of the emergency prevention and response system, both the territory of the Russian Federation and beyond.

“With your help, the issues of prevention and elimination of emergencies related to floods, fires, search and evacuation of those in distress, the delivery of forces and equipment of the Russian Emergencies Ministry to the emergency zones, the delivery of humanitarian cargo and the evacuation of citizens, including from abroad, are resolved”, – said Viktor Yatsutsenko.

It should be noted that today the aviation of the Russian Emergencies Ministry is armed with 84 aircraft. Every year, the pilots of the “emergency department” perform over 15 thousand flights. For example, during 2021 they transported almost 19 thousand people, including the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Republic of the Philippines, Palestine, Egypt, the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, more than 17 thousand tons of various cargoes, including humanitarian ones, were delivered. Aviation EMERCOM of Russia also took an active part in extinguishing wildfires: largely thanks to the pilots of the “emergency department”, 125 settlements were protected from fire. In addition, the EMERCOM of Russia aviation personnel demonstrated a high level of skill within the framework of participation in the International Salon of Security Means “Integrated Security – 2021”, the XV International Aviation and Space Salon “MAKS – 2021”, an interdepartmental experimental research exercise in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation …

The selfless work of the EMERCOM of Russia aviation was highly appreciated by the country’s leadership and the Ministry: in the outgoing year, 24 people from among the flight personnel of the EMERCOM of Russia were nominated for state awards. Today, one of these awards, the Nesterov Medal, was solemnly presented to Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Balalaev, Deputy Head of the Krasnoyarsk Aviation Rescue Center of the EMERCOM of Russia.
