Today, on the Day of the Unknown Soldier, at a mass grave in the village of Olkhovatka, Kaliningrad region, a ceremony of reburial of the remains of 87 soldiers who were found during the reconstruction of the forecourt square in the town of Gusev, Kaliningrad region, took place.

The mourning ceremony was attended by representatives of the command of the Baltic Fleet, authorities of the Kaliningrad region, veteran and public organizations, cadet classes.

Representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church served a requiem for the dead, after which the remains of the heroes were buried under volleys of weapons fireworks. The remains of the soldiers with all military honors were reburied at the foot of the obelisk in the village of Olkhovatka, in which the remains of more than 1,600 Soviet soldiers are already buried, including Sergeant A.A. Koloskov and Hero of the Soviet Union Senior Lieutenant G.P. Viktorov. The ceremony ended with the passage of the guard of honor company of the army corps of the Baltic Fleet and a memorial meeting.
