In Elista, a grand opening of a bust monument to the tragically deceased Minister of Emergencies of Russia Yevgeny Zinichev took place.

The author of the monument, People’s Artist of Russia, famous sculptor Salavat Shcherbakov said that work on the pedestal lasted three months. “We made a sketch, made corrections from relatives and made the portrait of Yevgeny Nikolaevich in bronze,” said the sculptor.
The memory of the heroically departed Minister was honored with a minute of silence by laying flowers at the monument.

The name of Evgeny Nikolaevich Zinichev is forever inscribed in the history of the rescue business and will always serve as a vivid example of heroism and devoted service to the Fatherland.
Let us remind you that on September 8 Yevgeny Zinichev died tragically in Norilsk, saving the life of another person. The head of the EMERCOM of Russia was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation posthumously.
