Dmitry Chernyshenko visited Orenburg State University

To implement the strategic initiative “Advanced Engineering Schools”, approved by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, the Government of Russia will launch a federal project of the same name in 2022. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko during his visit to Orenburg State University. The Vice Prime Minister also congratulated the university on being included in the Priority-2030 Academic Leadership Program.

The event was attended by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Dmitry Afanasyev, Governor of the Orenburg Region Denis Pasler, Minister of Education of the region Alexey Pakhomov and Acting Rector of OSU Sergei Miroshnikov.

The vice-premier and plenipotentiary visited the laboratories of the OSU engineering center, the developments of which are actively used by the leading industrial enterprises of the region, and met with young scientists of the region.

“For the Government, one of the priority tasks is the training of qualified personnel for all sectors of the economy. OSU already has experience when students, in partnership with industrial enterprises, implement joint projects and introduce innovative developments into production. The existing engineering competencies of the university must be linked to the new federal project “Advanced Engineering Schools” that is being launched. I instruct the Ministry of Education and Science, together with OSU, to work out this issue and connect regional high-tech companies, ”said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

“It can be seen that you are doing promising research at a fairly high level. For my part, I would like to help on the issue of interaction with industrial enterprises of the Volga Federal District. In many regions of the district, there is a very well-established process when there is close interaction with universities both in terms of hiring children and accumulating knowledge and scientific achievements in order to help train the same teaching staff. I myself was in charge of very large enterprises, and one of the tasks was to send specialists so that they not only lead the directions of scientific development, departments, but also form the future concept of training, which the enterprise itself needs. A breakthrough can only be achieved through high technologies, and therefore new standards in the field of education – it is very difficult to do this without the participation of leading enterprises. I hope that everything is in order with you, both at the stage of preparation of training and the formation of programs, and at the stage of the material and technical base. If there is a need to help in establishing closer cooperation with industrial enterprises of the district, then we are ready to assist, “said Igor Komarov.

At a meeting with young scientists at the OSU “Boiling Point” Dmitry Chernyshenko and Igor Komarov answered their questions about state support for scientists, attracting young specialists to science and implementing student startups.

“Starting next year, we will launch the“ University Platform for Technological Entrepreneurship ”project. This is another of the 42 strategic initiatives of the Government. The project is designed to stimulate students to create their own business, and we will attract investors to this work. Until 2024, it is planned to allocate about 20 billion rubles for its implementation. We hope that this will create 150 thousand new jobs in innovative sectors of the economy by 2030, ”the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

“One of the key tasks of the regional government is to provide conditions for the realization of the enormous creative and scientific potential of our youth. Dmitry Nikolaevich highly appreciated the projects that we have already implemented, developing training for the IT industry. The next stage of work is training personnel for the creative industries. At the same time, we do not forget about the traditional industries that make up the economy of our region, so we are actively involved in preparing for the Advanced Engineering Schools project. It will allow us to significantly increase the number of children studying with the new equipment and make the Orenburg Region one of the federal centers for training engineering personnel, ”said Denis Pasler.

“I am sure that in the near future our university will become a center of education, science and innovation, which forms a creatively thinking and constructive person of the 21st century. We will achieve this goal through the implementation of large-scale projects that will form a new type of university – a university with unique technologies and developed infrastructure, ”said Sergei Miroshnikov.

At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister also noted the active participation of the region in the events of the Year of Science and Technology, and also invited Orenburg residents to the Congress of Young Scientists, which will be held in Sochi in December on the basis of the Sirius educational center.
