The Black Sea Fleet hosted a meeting of the Maritime Collegium of the Sevastopol City Branch of the Russian Geographical Society (RGO).

The event was held aboard the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the Guards Missile Cruiser Moskva.

During the collegium, the results of work for 2021 were summed up, plans and prospects for interaction in 2022 were outlined. Also, the participants of the Maritime Board considered issues of conducting a joint research expedition with the Black Sea Fleet, and also discussed approaches to preserving the historical memory and cultural maritime heritage of Sevastopol and the fleet.

The Marine Collegium was created in accordance with the decision of the Council of the Sevastopol Branch of the Russian Geographical Society and acts to develop geographical science, study and preserve the unique ecosystem of the Black Sea, organize expeditionary activities, including underwater research, preserve the glorious maritime traditions of Russia and the Hero City of Sevastopol, marine historical and cultural heritage, studying the history of the Black Sea Fleet.
