The personnel of the Guards Artillery Regiment of the Novorossiysk Guards Airborne Assault Mountain Formation took part in a festive parade in the resort city of Anapa for a veteran of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Ivan Ivanovich Malunov, who is 101 years old.

The paratroopers marched in front of the veteran’s house in formation and, together with the “Esaul” ensemble, sang the legendary wartime song “Katyusha”, and then personally congratulated him and wished him health and longevity.

Ivan Malunov was drafted by the Bratsk district military registration and enlistment office of the Irkutsk region in 1941, at the end of the same year, as part of the 53rd Infantry Regiment, he arrived at the North-Western Front, where in January 1942 he entered the battles.

He served as a scout, his task was to control the front line. At the combat post, he received frostbite of the lower extremities, but escaped amputation. He returned to the front after three months in hospital and continued to fight until 1944, after which he was transferred to the reserve. After the war he worked as a chemistry teacher. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, II degree.

The former reconnaissance soldier was congratulated by representatives of the command of the military units of the Anapa garrison and the administration of the resort city of Anapa ..

The veteran was presented with flowers and gifts.
