A member of the Public Council under the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, the head of the Moscow Center for Crisis Psychology, met with the head of the territorial body Dmitry Konovalov and held a seminar on the prevention of suicides for the employees of the penitentiary system.
At the meeting, which was attended by the assistant to the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service for the observance of human rights in the penitentiary system Aleksey Gichev, the head of the department of educational and social work with convicts Svetlana Vargatyuk, the head of the psychological service Maxim Kolesnikov and the Ombudsman for the rights of the child in the Komi Republic Tatyana Kozlova, the parties discussed areas of interaction with the Public Council under the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. Mikhail Khasminsky handed over literature on psychology to Dmitry Konovalov for use in the official activities of employees.
Various specialists of the penal system took part in the training sessions on the prevention of suicides. Note that the recommendations of the well-known psychologist were also interested in colleagues from other departments – the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
Mikhail Khasminsky has extensive practical experience in resolving crisis situations. In an accessible form, using specific examples and cases of committing suicides, he told the audience about their reasons, considered complex methods of preventing suicidal behavior.
At the end of the training seminar, during which the staff of the penal system received the knowledge necessary for their daily work, the head of the Center for Crisis Psychology answered the questions of the participants.
