Sixteen tons of medical oxygen was recently transferred by the Northern Fleet to the Komi Republic. On a cumulative basis, hospitals in the region received 36 tons of oxygen from units and formations located in the area of ​​responsibility of the USC of the Northern Fleet. In total, more than 76 tons of liquid oxygen were transferred from the fleet to the northern regions of Russia.

The transfer of liquid oxygen to civilian doctors is carried out in accordance with the decision of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and is under constant control of the command of the Northern Fleet.

The generation of oxygen and nitrogen from the air is carried out by special technical installations – gas production stations. These components are widely used in aviation and astronautics.

The aviation units of the Northern Fleet have accumulated a supply of medical oxygen sufficient to meet the needs of their pilots and medical institutions, as well as to provide assistance to the civilian healthcare system.

Storage and transportation of medical oxygen is carried out in liquid form in special cryocontainers.

Military units deployed in the Vologda and Arkhangelsk regions were involved in providing oxygen to the civilian health care system.

Medical oxygen is not the only form of assistance to civilian doctors. To combat the new coronavirus infection, the medical service of the Northern Fleet has formed medical teams of therapeutic doctors, paramedics and nurses-anesthetists. One therapist of the branch 1469 of the Naval Clinical Hospital of the RF Ministry of Defense was sent to the Tula Region from the city of Mirny, Arkhangelsk Region.
