The All-Army competition for 3D-modeling and prototyping among students of pre-university educational organizations of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation “Army 3D” was held.
The competition was held in three age groups (junior grade 6-7, middle grade 8-9, senior grade 10-11) and in two nominations: “Technical creativity” and “Engineering, 3D CAD”.
The Suvorovites had to complete tasks for 3D modeling and prototyping in the Compass-3D program.
In the Technical Creativity nomination, the teams had to not only create a 3D model, but also print it, design it, and then present and protect it. During the defense, it was required to argue design decisions, present all stages of modeling, and also show knowledge when working with a slicer and setting up a 3D printer.
The Engineering, 3D CAD nomination was to read technical drawings, create 3D parts, and then combine it all into an assembly.
The tasks were quite difficult, and the more significant is the result shown by the Suvorovites: among 22 teams of students of pre-university educational organizations of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Perm Suvorov Military School took 3rd command place.
Timofey Sokolov and Gleb Mazur were awarded special diplomas “For the best design of a 3D model”. The experts noted the high level of knowledge of the Suvorovites in 3D modeling and prototyping. The mentor in all nominations was Zhanna Oputina, a teacher of a separate discipline (technology).
