In the Samara region, in connection with the beginning of the winter training period on December 1, the flights of Mi-8 and Mi-24 combat helicopters were resumed to train cadets of the Syzran branch of the Air Force Academy.

On the first day of the training flights, only instructor pilots were involved. Their actions were appreciated by the head of the school, Major General Alexander Asanov. He also performed piloting of the Mi-24 helicopter along routes and zones, checked interaction with the flight management group at the airport.

In total, about 20 helicopters were involved in practical actions. During the academic year, cadets of 3-5 courses, under the close supervision of experienced instructors, will practice the elements of piloting, firing aircraft cannons, launching unguided missiles, as well as landing on conventionally unprepared sites.

Cadets of the foreign faculty will also be involved in practical actions.

The Syzran branch of the Military Training Research Center “Air Force Academy” is the only educational institution in Russia where pilots of military helicopters are trained.
