In the Orenburg region, during an operational-combat training session, the command staff of the Central Military District (CVD) will demonstrate the operation of a promising complex for automated control of cover means “Kaus”, which is intended for an anti-aircraft gunner and is already being tested in the district’s anti-aircraft missile brigade.
The complex consists of a navigation device, goggles with visualization, a headset, a control panel, a radio station and other elements. The weight of the whole set is 3 kg. He is able to determine and issue to the squad commander the coordinates of his position and angles of spatial orientation; to receive from the commander of the squad target designation, commands of the general type and the sector of responsibility and display them in the display system built into the glasses; to automate the aiming of the anti-aircraft gunner at the target. Also, the complex, thanks to built-in gadgets, can issue information to the squad commander about the combat readiness of the shooter, the number of missiles, set the air monitoring mode; provide voice support for air and ground situations; register speech and telecode information.
The operational-combat training camp of the Central Military District started on December 14 at the training ground in the Orenburg region and will last until December 17. It is conducted under the general direction of the commander of the military district, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin. More than 300 military personnel take part in it – from regiment commanders to army commanders. As part of the gathering, generals and officers study the organization and conduct of hostilities under the conditions of active use by the enemy of special operations forces, sabotage and reconnaissance groups and under the conditions of the actions of bandit formations, including in difficult climatic conditions.
