Specialists of the search and rescue and paratrooper service of the Central Military District (CVD) in full force have been redeployed to the Republic of Kazakhstan to ensure the safety of the landing of the Soyuz MS-20 descent vehicle with space tourists from Japan on board.

About 50 more rescue specialists, eight Mi-8 helicopters and two search and recovery vehicles FEM-1 and FEM-2 “Blue Bird”. During the landing of the Soyuz MS-20 descent vehicle, military rescuers will be on duty in the sky and on the ground near the settlements of Zhezkazgan and Arkalyk. In total, about 200 specialists will be involved in search and rescue support of the landing, an aviation group: 12 Mi-8 helicopters, two An-12 aircraft and one An-26 aircraft; more than 20 units of ground vehicles, including six modernized search and recovery vehicles FEM-1 and FEM-2 “Blue Bird”.

The landing of the descent vehicle of the Soyuz MS-20 manned spacecraft is scheduled for December 20. Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin and space flight participants – President of the Start Today corporation Yusaku Maezawa and his personal assistant Yozo Hirano will return to Earth.
