The III open ice hockey tournament “Cup of the Chief of the Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy” finished in St. Petersburg.

Eight national teams took part in the tournament, which was held on the basis of the Hockey Palace and the SKA Hockey City sports complex: Mikhailovskie Bears from the Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy; “Navy” from the Military Educational and Scientific Center of the Navy “Naval Academy named after Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union N.G. Kuznetsov “; “Mozhaets” from the A.F. Mozhaisky; Military Medical Academy named after S.M. Kirov; “Lynx” from the Military Academy of Communications named after S.M. Budyonny; Military Academy of Logistics named after A.V. Khrulev; Military Institute of Physical Culture; “Guard” from the University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

In the final battle for the Cup, the teams “Mikhailovskie Bears” of the Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy and the Military Institute of Physical Culture (VIFK) met. In a hot sporting battle with a score of 5: 0, the team of the Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy won. The Mikhailovites stubbornly walked to the highest step of the pedestal. In the quarter-finals, they won with a score of 7: 1 against the team of the A.F. Mozhaisky, and in the semifinals with a score of 3: 1 at the team of the S.M. Budyonny. The coach of the Mikhailovskie Bears team, Colonel Konstantin Bukhanovsky, celebrated the triumph of his pupils for the third time in a row at this tournament.

The rest of the seats were distributed as follows. The second place went to the VIFK national team. The third place was taken by the team of the Military Academy of Communications named after Marshal of the Soviet Union S.M. Budyonny. The fourth place went to the team of the A.F. Mozhaisky.

The ceremonial closing of the tournament was carried out by the head of the Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy, Lieutenant General Sergei Bakaneev. In his speech, he thanked the teams for participating in the tournament in honor of the foundation day of the academy. He noted that the skill of the players is growing every year and wished the participants of the event good health, further success in sports and in life.

The captains and coaches of the finalist teams were awarded commemorative prizes from the head of the academy. The players of the MBAA team won titles: the best goalkeeper of the tournament – Rem Petrov, the best goalkeeper of the final game – Timofey Siukhin, the best defender – Konstantin Kudinov, the best scorer – Semyon Tikin. Pavel Bobrovsky from the VIFK team was recognized as the best striker, and Ivan Pashkov from the Lynx team became the most useful player in the tournament.
