The newest field laboratory complex for research KLP-10 has entered service with the radiation, chemical and biological (RCB) protection compound of the combined arms formation of the Central Military District (CVO), stationed in Siberia.

The complex consists of several autonomous field modules: biological, chemical and radiation, which are located on the basis of KamAZ vehicles with a wheelbase of 8×8, with increased cross-country ability, a carrying capacity of 10 tons and having good all-terrain characteristics, capable of overcoming a ford with a depth of 1.75 m and obstacles with a height of 0 , 6 m.

The KLP-10 field laboratory allows for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of samples of air, water, soil and other objects for the presence of toxic chemicals, radioactive substances and biologically pathogenic agents.

The functional purpose of the laboratory allows on the spot to determine the chemical and radionuclide composition of the detected hazardous substances, to establish the group affiliation of biological pathogenic agents, to urgently determine quarantine infections and transmit the information received using a special communication system. In addition, the laboratory is equipped with equipment for PCR analyzes. The samples taken by KLP-10 can be stored and transported in one of the modules.

The complex is also equipped with a module for providing rest, food intake and sanitary and hygienic needs of the laboratory calculation when it performs work outside the unit’s location, which allows the calculation to operate in an autonomous mode for 10 days.
