As Maria Volokh said during the award ceremony, one of the sections of the work is devoted to the transplantation of an allogeneic complex of facial tissues, and to this day this operation remains the most difficult in the surgical technique of world medicine.
“Thanks to the modern level of health care development and government support, it was possible to implement a unique interdepartmental algorithm of interaction between the institutions of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Health and the Federal Medical and Biological Agency,” Volokh said. According to her, the successful completion of the operation made it possible not only to save the life of the victim, but also to resocialize him, as well as to enter Russia among the few countries that were able to perform such an operation.
A unique facial skin grafting operation was performed at the HUV-1 clinic of the Military Medical Academy. Such operations have not been carried out in Russia, and there are no more than 20 such cases in the world. For the first time, a team of scientists and doctors has developed a unique innovative method that allows you to fight not only the external manifestations of cicatricial changes in human skin, but also with the causes of aging at the level of its microstructure. The main effect of the newest surgical method is the complete return of patients with facial injuries to a full-fledged social life. According to the conclusion of the Board of Trustees of the Ministry of Health of Russia, facial skin plastic surgery with one full-thickness graft is recognized as Russia’s priority in world surgery.
For the first time, to improve the provision of care to patients with burns, facial injuries and their consequences, innovative surgical technologies have been developed that make it possible to achieve maximum functional and cosmetic results of treatment, shorten treatment times, and achieve the absence of scar tissue in long-term periods.
The developed personalized approach makes it possible to draw up an individual program for the correction of defects and the prevention of cicatricial changes in the patient’s skin using cell therapy. To improve facial surgery, specialists have developed a method for using autologous SPRS fibroblasts, which allows a conclusion about the regenerative potential of the skin for each patient and the development of an individual approach to each patient in order to achieve a lasting aesthetic result. SPRS-therapy technology has no functional analogues in Russia.
