The commander of the Tula airborne unit, Hero of the Russian Guard, Colonel Vladimir Seliverstov, in Tula, presented the command and personnel of the new commander of the Guards Parachute, Red Banner, Order of Suvorov Regiment named after Dmitry Donskoy.

During the solemn ceremony, the commander of the unit received the military banner of the unit from the hands of the Guards Colonel Pavel Filyaev, who had commanded the regiment since 2019 and handed it over to the new commander, the Guards Colonel Vyacheslav Aleksandrov.

After parting with the banner of the regiment commander Pavel Filyaev, the new commander of the guards unit, to the music of a military orchestra, carried the battle banner of the military unit in front of the formation.

In his speech, the commander of the formation, Hero of Russia, Guards Colonel Vladimir Seliverstov noted that the position of the regiment commander is responsible and significant in the record of each officer, noting that the regiment commander Pavel Filyaev honorably fulfilled all the tasks assigned to him, and thanked him for his service, and the new commander wished to continue the glorious traditions of the unit.

The ceremony of handing over the Guards Battle Banner ended with the passage of units in formation to the music of a military orchestra in front of the leadership tribune.

The Guards Airborne Regiment dates back to the times of the Great Patriotic War and has a glorious military tradition.

The servicemen of the parachute regiment took part in military operations in Austria, the Czech Republic and Hungary, the war in Afghanistan, and the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus region.

Guard Lieutenant Colonel Vyacheslav Aleksandrov graduated from the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School named after General of the Army V.F. in 2007. After graduation, he held positions from the commander of a reconnaissance platoon to the chief of staff-deputy commander of a separate guards airborne assault formation.

Graduated from the Combined Arms Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 2015. Has state awards.
