From the beginning of the winter training period, more than 2.5 thousand servicemen of the Guards Tank Army of the Western Military District take classes on unique modern computer simulators, including control of tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, and anti-tank guided missile systems.

In the tank army, several dozen types of simulators are used: for training crews of T-80, T-72B3, T-90 tanks, BMP-2, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers BTR-82A, BTR-80, operators of anti-tank guided missile systems “Shturm-S”, flamethrowers of jet infantry flamethrowers “Bumblebee”.

The simulator software forms a virtual environment for the trainee, taking into account different periods of the year and day, the state of weather conditions, the geographical and climatic characteristics of the training area.

Simulators for tankers allow you to create a real picture of the battle, while simultaneously showing up to ten different targets at different ranges. For operators of MANPADS, the monitors display the trajectory of the missile flight, the movement of ground and air targets, the dimensions of which change in proportion to the range, and the interference acting on the operator, such as flare, sound and smoke.

The capabilities of simulators allow instructors to automatically record trainees’ mistakes, correct actions and simulate the situation.

Upon completion of training, all servicemen will go to the training grounds of the tank army in the Moscow, Smolensk, Nizhny Novgorod, Ivanovo and Yaroslavl regions in order to apply their knowledge on real combat vehicles and conduct live firing.
