The House of Culture “GES-2” – the building of the former Central Power Station of the city tram – became one of the most important restoration projects in 2021. Sergei Sobyanin told about this in an interview with the TV channel “Russia 1”. He recalled that 170 cultural monuments have already been put in order in Moscow. This includes both small merchant houses and estates, as well as large industrial buildings.

“The program for the restoration of monuments in Moscow is the largest in the world. And every year there are fewer and fewer monuments that are in poor condition, ”stressed Sergei Sobyanin.

He also stressed that the city, private investors and federal structures are taking part in the restoration of these objects. The capital, for example, has been holding the Moscow Restoration competition since 2011 for the best project in the field of preserving and popularizing cultural heritage sites. During this time, more than 800 people took part in it. 416 participants and organizers of works who were involved in restoration of almost 200 objects cultural heritage.

Among the objects, the restoration of which completed in 2021, – Little Russian courtyard, Ivan and Alexandra Medvednikov gymnasium, sculptural compositions of residential buildings on Gagarin Square, Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge and others.
