The Tula Guards Airborne Formation celebrated the 77th anniversary of the formation of a separate medical unit (airmobile).

As part of the event, a solemn meeting was held dedicated to the significant date and the awarding of the most distinguished servicemen, who were announced gratitude and presented with gifts and certificates.

Speaking to the personnel, the commander of the Tula unit, Hero of Russia, Guards Colonel Vladimir Seliverstov, congratulated the entire personnel of the separate medical unit on the next anniversary and wished them good health, success in service, improving their professional skills and a peaceful sky, noting their invaluable contribution to preventing the spread of coronavirus infection in the units of the guards unit of the Airborne Forces.

For reference:

The history of the detachment goes back to the period of the Great Patriotic War, when the 234th separate medical and sanitary battalion was organized, which passed the combat path as part of the 106th Guards Rifle Division from Hungary to Austria. In the post-war period, the detachment’s servicemen took an active part in the medical support of paratroopers in local armed conflicts that took place with the participation of the Soviet and later Russian Armed Forces.

During its existence, the detachment has been repeatedly reorganized and is currently a modern military medical and preventive institution and is capable of providing all types of qualified (with elements of specialized) medical care.
