The film was shown in one of the city cinemas. The event was attended by cadets of the military training center of UrFU, youth soldiers and university teachers.

The feature film “Sky” directed by Igor Kopylov is based on the story of the death of a military pilot Oleg Peshkov and the rescue of navigator Konstantin Murakhtin in 2015 in Syria. Filming took place at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, including at the Khmeimim airbase in Syria.

For reference:

The picture is based on real events in Syria, when a Russian Su-24 was shot down by a Turkish fighter during a combat mission. This happened on November 24, 2015. The crew – Oleg Peshkov and Konstantin Murakhtin – managed to eject. Navigator Murakhtin was saved, and Peshkov, who was descending with a parachute, was shot in the air by the militants. Later, all the terrorists who participated in this shooting were destroyed, and the deceased pilot was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Russia. Murakhtin was awarded the Order of Courage.
