Elevators are replaced in the year the 25-year service life ends under the overhaul program.

In 2021, 371 elevators were replaced in residential buildings in the Eastern District of Moscow. According to this indicator, VAO was in the top three after SEAD (654 lifts) and South-West Administrative District (499 lifts). The work was carried out within regional overhaul program

Most of the elevators – 14 at once – were replaced in the building at the address: Suzdalskaya Street, Building 10, Building 3. The 14-storey building built in 1996 has seven entrances, each of which has two elevators: passenger and freight.

The oldest building where lifts were changed is a five-story building with six entrances on Millionnaya Street (15, building 1). The brick building in the style of constructivism was built almost a century ago – in 1929. It is famous for the fact that the famous Soviet football player Lev Yashin lived there in 1929-1944. The house originally had four floors. The fifth was added in the 1990s. Then the building was reconstructed: they made loggias, installed elevators and a garbage chute.

The tallest buildings in the Eastern Administrative District, where work was going on to replace the elevators, were building 5 on Kuskovskaya street and building 97 on Shchelkovskoye highway. These 22-storey buildings were built in 1996 and belong to the KOPE type series.

As previously reported by the Deputy Mayor for Housing and Communal Services and ImprovementPeter Biryukov, everything in the capital was replaced this year more than three thousand elevators… In houses where residents are saving money for overhaul on the account of a regional operator, the lifts are changed strictly in the year of the end of the 25-year service life. Their service life is no longer extended. If there are several elevators at the entrance, for the convenience of residents, they are changed one at a time.
