Specialists of the Military Construction Complex of the Russian Ministry of Defense have completed the construction of 6 berths for mooring ships at the new base of the Caspian Flotilla in the Republic of Dagestan.

In Kaspiysk, the construction of new hydraulic structures (northern and southern protective piers with berths) and coastal infrastructure continues to effectively provide anchorage and maintenance of ships, boats and support vessels, including new and promising models.

The North and South breakwaters, almost 3 kilometers long, will reliably protect more than 700 thousand square meters of the inner harbor from waves, sediments and other external influences. Work on the Northern Pier has already been completed.

To ensure the design depths of the harbor in the inner water area, military builders sampled about 2 million cubic meters of bottom sand, which is also used for planning the territory of the military camp.

The creation of a new military base in Kaspiysk began after the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu decided in 2018 to redeploy the Caspian Flotilla from Astrakhan, which is hydrologically less convenient for ships to Dagestan.

A large-scale construction project has been launched in the Republic of Dagestan. Piers, berths, service points, military and social infrastructure, housing, schools and kindergartens are being built.
