In the tank formation of the Eastern Military District, stationed in the Republic of Buryatia, as part of rearmament, a planned replacement of respiratory protection equipment with modern PMK-2 gas masks took place.

New gas masks protect the skin of the face, eyes, and respiratory organs of servicemen not only from radioactive dust and toxic substances, but also from chemically hazardous substances such as active chlorine, ammonia and others.

The design of the PMK-2 provides for the presence of two filtering absorbing elements (filters), which significantly increases the time of protection of personnel in conditions of the use of nuclear, chemical and biological weapons by a potential enemy.

Compared to outdated models, the protection of the face and eyes in the new gas mask is carried out using a unified helmet-mask, the size of which is adjustable in three positions.

Ergonomic performance has also improved. The gas mask provides for the possibility of using liquid in a combat position with the help of a special intake, which tenfold increases the performance of personnel in conditions of RCB infection.
