The large-scale reconstruction is planned to be completed in 2023.

The second stage of a large-scale reconstruction of the Lyubertsy treatment facilities has been completed. This was stated by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Peter Biryukov

“Completed work within the second stage of reconstruction of the Lyubertsy treatment facilities. The biological treatment system of the first block has been modernized, settler complexes, a sludge thickening shop, reservoirs for waste water, pre- and post-aeration have been put into operation, the building of the main turbine hall has been reconstructed, ”the deputy mayor said.

During the reconstruction of treatment facilities, the latest technologies are being introduced, many of which are used in Russia for the first time. For example, within the framework of the second stage, acidification units were installed, with the help of which the concentration of organic compounds in the effluent is increased. This is necessary for the subsequent deep removal of phosphorus. This technology will improve the quality of water returned to nature.

Pyotr Biryukov stressed that during the modernization of treatment facilities, special attention is paid to the quality of atmospheric air.

“All new facilities, processes in which may be accompanied by unpleasant odors, were originally designed taking into account the placement of equipment for cleaning ventilation emissions. Implementation of a set of measures in this direction will allow minimizing the appearance of odors, ”he explained.

It is planned to complete the reconstruction of the Lyubertsy treatment facilities in 2023.
