On December 22, under the chairmanship of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, the next General Meeting of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO will be held, timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the entry into force of the UNESCO Charter. It will be attended by the heads of relevant Russian ministries and departments, heads of the constituent entities of the Federation, representatives of business circles, prominent figures in education, science, culture, journalism and sports.

Traditionally, during the meeting, Sergey Lavrov will present to the members of the Commission a report on the consistent efforts of Russian foreign policy in the direction of UNESCO, and will also present his assessments of the most pressing challenges for Russia on the platform of this organization. Presentations by a number of federal ministers and regional leaders on private aspects of interaction with partners in UNESCO will be heard
