On December 20, a regional meeting of Russian ambassadors in Central and Eastern Europe (Austria, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Germany, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Liechtenstein) was held in Budapest under the leadership of the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation V.G. Titov.

An in-depth exchange of views was held on the state and prospects for the development of relations between Russia and the states of the region in the context of the tasks set by the President of the Russian Federation at an expanded meeting of the Collegium of the Russian Foreign Ministry on November 18, 2021. Issues of building up trade, economic, energy and investment cooperation, practical aspects of bilateral interaction were discussed.

The meeting participants laid flowers at the monument to Soviet soldiers-liberators in Budapest.

V.G. Titov also had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs of Hungary P. Siyjarto, during which topical issues of bilateral cooperation and the international agenda were considered, a schedule of the next high-level political contacts was agreed upon. The mutual disposition of Moscow and Budapest to develop constructive and multi-vector cooperation was confirmed.
