The fastest recovering sectors are consumer services, dentistry and printing.
In Moscow, the turnover of enterprises most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic is growing. In September – November 2021, it reached 1.4 trillion rubles, exceeding the result of the same period in 2020 by 58.3 percent and by 41.5 percent in 2019, said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations. Vladimir Efimov…
“The autumn months saw the maximum growth in the turnover of the affected industries. At the same time, in November, the first week of which most of the Moscow business did not work due to restrictions associated with the spread of coronavirus infection, the turnover of companies in the affected industries amounted to 461.3 billion rubles. In just 11 months of 2021, the turnover of the affected industries reached 4.3 trillion rubles, ”the deputy mayor said.
The revenue of most industries increased compared to the fall of 2019. “The turnover of the most affected trade segments in September-November 2021 increased by 83.7 percent compared to the same period of 2019. The consumer services sector is recovering at a high rate – its revenue increased by 64 percent compared to the fall of 2019. Dentistry increased its turnover by 59 percent, the media and printing industry – by 67 percent, “- said the Minister of the Moscow Government, the head of the Moscow Department of Economic Policy and Development Kirill Purtov.
However, there are still industries that have not yet reached pre-pandemic indicators. Catering enterprises and hotels have practically recovered: their lag, compared to the fall of 2019, is less than one percent. The entertainment industry and travel agencies were hit hardest, earning 15 percent less. However, the upcoming New Years and long holidays will allow them to increase their profits.
Small and medium-sized enterprises in the worst-hit sectors also surpassed the fall 2019 figures. Their turnover in September – November 2021 amounted to 421.9 billion rubles, exceeding the pre-crisis level by 26 percent, the Analytical Center of Moscow noted.
